The result was down 1.1 mile straight in Ban Continental Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, is more than 195 miles per hour.

Mustang just a blur of black and the walls supercharger wail over crowded by the camera at high speed. Despite the strong results, Hennessey did not seem to do with the 'Stang yet. The car still seems to be interesting when it hits the rev limiter, and there are a few tracks left straight ahead. After the exit, John Hennessey says he immediately thought of 200 mph possible.

HPE700 heart is a 2.9-liter Roots-type supercharger running at 7.25 psi. It was a pretty big blower, especially when considering the 2.4-liter unit in the Hellcat V8. John Hennessey took a personal trip Mustang GT in Texas

Uvalde, Texas-Everything is bigger in Texas, especially when it comes to the performance automotive. Texas also lay claim to the highest posted speed limit in the United States at 85 mph. Enter a team of Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) located in the west Houston. John Hennessey and his merry band performance car builders want to go fast, so much so that they have their own ¼ mile dragstrip next to their workshops.

More recently, Hennessey team wanted to test the 717-horsepower they HPE700 Supercharged Mustang car development (private car and driver John occasional daily) outside 130+ mph speeds that they see on the dragstrip. "Fortunately, we have recently received an invitation from the people in the Continental Tire proving grounds in Uvalde to come in and do some testing on their 8.0-mile high-speed oval," said Hennessey. "So we put together a team of technicians and engineers and make the short trip to Uvalde to see how HPE700 we will perform at a higher speed".

John and his son, JP, drove HPE700 Mustang from the company's headquarters Sealy Uvalde - a distance of 240 miles. After spending the night, the team arrived in court to prove the next morning. After waiting a few hours for the morning dew to burn off the track, the team prepared the car to go out and take a few laps around the big oval. "It's almost like a big circle with two short 1.1 mile long straightaways," says John.

After completing a round on a warm Hennessey decided to open the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine supercharged HPE700 and see how the car feels at higher speeds. "Cruising through the final turn I tried to maintain 120-130 mph while building up some speed as I approached the straight," said Hennessey. When I hit the straight, I want to be around 140 mph and then let all the horsepower Mustang running wide open. car stopped very strong and continues to attract. I hit a pretty bad bump at about 170 mph and kept my foot on the gas. Then I hit the rev limiter at more than 195 mph according to the display Racelogic VBox ".

After returning to the pits, Racelogic engineer, Joe Lachovsky can confirm that the 2015 HPE700 Supercharged Mustang has recorded a top speed of 195.2 mph as validated by the system based on GPS data logging VBox 3i.

"I am very happy with this first test our specially tuned Ford Mustang GT," said Hennessey. Aerodynamic stability of bodied stock car gave it a balanced and predictable on speed. We are also very pleased to have the ability to show our HPE700 daily driveability along with durability. We supercharged 5.0 V8 ran perfectly at high rpm and high speed while oil temps never a problem, thanks to our PurePlus synthetic Pennzoil. We drove to Continental, running 195+ mph and drove home - a round trip distance of over 500 miles. "
