Walkaround
The 2004 Mustang design picks up styling cues from the original 1964 to 1966, but runs on today rounder, more organic idiom. The air intake rear fender, for example, has sharp corners and sharp lines; but the bottom panels of the output curve, and defenses have pronounced arches and front and rear wheel. The front end features wraparound headlights reflectors complexes with integrated side marker lights, combined with a honeycomb grille square edges and chrome pony. Tricolor logos front fenders recall the old days, like the prominent but non-functional hood scoop. At the rear, that is 1965 with vertical taillights, three elements.
GT models receive treatments and side hood scoop only along with fog lamps and a rear spoiler.
Mach 1 is easy to spot with the special adjustment beginning with the shaker hood scoop. Attached to the top of the engine, the black scoop rears its head by a quadrangular hole in the hood Mach 1. (hood scoops on the GT models sit on top of the hood.) A low-gloss black bold stripe extends to the center of the powerdome hood to accentuate the scoop. Stomp on the throttle and you can see it move or shake slightly as the engine turns against engine mounts. In theory, the blade is designed to channel the fresh air intake and increased respiration, therefore, the increased power.
The 40th anniversary package, a no-cost option for 2004 Mustang has an Arizona Beige Metallic performance stripes on the hood, lower rocker panels and deck lid. Arizona Beige Metallic accents wheels updated (16-inch for the V-6 and 17-inch wheels for the GT Bullitt). 40th Anniversary models are available in a crimson red outer sole and Oxford Black and White, with the body color, folding in the side mirrors.
Inside
The Mustang cabin is a little quieter for 2004. New expandable foam seals designed to reduce wind noise is used throughout the body, especially the exterior door handles and moldings belt on both doors.
Convertibles and coupes offer roughly the same amount of space in the front seats. Either way, it's a cozy interior. Enough length of the seat track to give drivers high and just enough elbowroom place to avoid feeling cramped. The Mustang offers good, reclining bucket seats with a lot of travel. The seats are pretty full, but supportive, a good compromise, and do not slide around. Seatbelts are associated with structures seats that move with the seat. Running horses embossed on the upper parts of the bucket seats optional leather interior reminiscent of horse luxury mid-1960.
The 40th anniversary package upgrades the interior with four-way headrest, an envelope painted center console and brushed aluminum door lock knobs, boot trim ring exchange and pedals. The package includes unique floor mats with embroidered anniversary logo 40 game and a badge on the center console.
The Mach 1 tachometer and speedometer use a condensed font highest and control marks that make it more difficult to read the meters in the GT models. The instrument panel, center console and the headliner are color-keyed. To turn on the headlights, pull knob of the old left. The center console includes cup holders.
SVT Cobra models offer front bucket seats with leather knot and suede inserts. The driver's seat has six-way power with power-adjustable thigh and side bolsters and power lumbar support. Clearly, these seats are made of serious, fast driving. The switches are on the front right of the seat angle. SVT instrument panel has been redesigned to include a boost gauge. The meters have titanium-colored faces and electroluminescent lighting. Cobra shifter is leather-wrapped with a brushed aluminum insert on the top, inscribed with the standard six-speed. Metal trimmed pedals and dead pedal are standard.
The back seat is small, with just enough space for small items or children. Convertibles have even less room for the hips and shoulders coupes, but of the same height and legroom.
The trunk is small, with an even smaller opening. Coupes have a little less than 11 cubic feet worth of cargo, while convertibles have only 7.7 cubic feet. A split folding rear seat is standard and practical to transport cargo.
Driving experience with 2004 Ford Mustang
Driving the Ford Mustang confirms that it is a throwback to another era. A Mustang GT has more than enough energy to break the rear tires loose. The firm suspension transmits highway undulations, and there are some side by side jouncing on rough surfaces, but this car makes us feel happy.
The engine sounds so good, so deep and thunderous, it could be the nicest thing about the car. With the Camaro / Firebird gone, just do not make them like this anymore. With plenty of high-performance cars, you have to go fast to feel the joy, but with the Mustang, including 2,000 rpm is fun. Such a wide range of enjoyment adds to the already high value of the car.
GT V8 feels and sounds very satisfying as you accelerate through the first and second gear upshift in a modest 4,000 rpm. In fifth gear, 2,000 rpm is 75 kilometers per hour, and the engine at that speed Loaf, rumbling. No engine can think of sounds and feels like you are doing more in such low revs. It is not hard work, just doing more. This is particularly noticeable in the convertible with the top down.
The torque provides a constant, smooth acceleration and throttle response to rallies is wonderful with an easy position pedal heel and toe. The only small problem was the throttle control to 5 mph in the parking lots with the manual transmission, and it tended to snatch.
The manual transmission is very high note. Because the maximum speed in second speed is 70 kilometers per hour, most of the corners are second or third gear, so you find yourself downshifting much. You can fall sharply in the second, with a beautiful blip democracy, and is a great thing that inspires trust smooth and solid. Leather shift lever GT has the perfect way for a firm grip.
In the corners, the Mustang likes to be muscular, but need not be. It's brutal, but still goes where you point it without a fight. The brakes are not erased when driving on winding roads at an aggressive pace and use them frequently. The control system optional traction Bosch works at all speeds: Whenever you detect wheelspin, the system retards the ignition timing, cut the fuel flow and activates the brakes on one or both drive wheels, in that order. The driver can switch off the system with a console switch.
The Mustang suspension was redesigned for 2003 to improve the ride quality.

Summary
The current Ford Mustang is a car hammer, a throwback to another era. Its interior is outdated. Stand on the gas and powerful V8 GT can spin the rear wheels. The firm suspension and handling for one hot ride fast. But not fancy. This is part of the charm and love. Driving a Mustang can put a smile on your face. I particularly enjoyed convertibles.
It is expected that a brand new 2005 Ford Mustang in mid 2004. Until then, the 2004 Mustang is still value in performance and style.
